A clear, security-first walkthrough

Ledger Live
Login, made clear.

Ledger Live Login is the starting point for checking your portfolio and managing supported crypto assets with Ledger’s companion app. This independent guide explains how to find the official app, get set up, and avoid common login traps—without ever asking for your recovery phrase.

Always verify the web address before you continue.

01 / 03

01 — Access

Start from
the source.

Ledger Live is an application, not a place to hand over secret information.

For a safe Ledger Live Login, use the official Ledger website to download Ledger Wallet (formerly Ledger Live) or open the app you already installed from a trusted source. Check the address carefully: look for ledger.com, a secure connection, and no misspellings or extra words in the domain. Avoid search ads, unsolicited messages, and links sent through social media or email.

Open the app and follow its on-screen instructions. If you have a Ledger signer, connect or pair it as prompted and unlock the device with its PIN. The app may ask you to approve a connection on the device itself. Read the device screen; it is the trusted place to review and approve actions. Your PIN unlocks your device locally. It is different from your recovery phrase, which should remain private and offline.

02 — First-time setup

A few careful
steps go a long way.

Take your time. A familiar setup flow is easier to verify and safer to repeat.

01

Download cleanly

Go directly to Ledger’s official site and select the version for your device. Don’t install software from a pop-up, sponsored search result, or a stranger’s download link.

02

Check the app

Install updates from within the app or official source. If a warning, unexpected extension, or unfamiliar “login page” appears, stop and verify through Ledger Support.

03

Pair your signer

Connect your hardware device and follow the prompts. Confirm sensitive actions on its screen. Never approve an action you did not initiate or understand.

03 — Stay protected

Pause when
something feels off.

Ledger will never ask you to type your 24-word recovery phrase into a website, share it in a chat, or enter it to “synchronize,” “validate,” or “restore” through a link. Anyone with those words can take control of the assets secured by them. Do not photograph the phrase or store it in cloud notes, email, or a password manager.

Be wary of urgency: fake support agents often claim that an account will be blocked unless you act immediately. Ledger Live does not require a third-party login, and an unexpected connection request is not proof that your account is at risk. Close suspicious pages, don’t install remote-access software, and contact support by navigating to support.ledger.com yourself.

Keep your app and computer up to date, protect your device PIN, and verify transaction details on your hardware screen. If you think your phrase has been exposed, do not enter it online; consult official support from a clean, trusted route for next steps.

A final reminder

Good security starts with
the right address.
